Rancho de San Juan is located at the converse of the Ojo
Cliente River and the Chama River Valleys as they flow into
the magnificent Rio Grande River at the San Juan Pueblo.
Rich in the history of the Hispanic culture, the valley was
first enjoyed by the pueblo Indian tribes as a place for
hunting and fishing while in route to the natural healing
mineral springs of Ojo Caliente (Spanish for Hot Eye). The
first Spanish village in the valley was named Ranchos de San
Juan and was located directly across the river from where
the inn now is located.
The Rancho?s luxurious suites and guest rooms are decorated
with antiques, art and fireplaces and offer private terraces
for outdoor enjoyment. Its elegant restaurant serves
award-winning cuisine, enhanced by fine custom porcelain and
family silver for candlelight dining: a feast for the
senses.
Chef/Owner John Johnson has established the international
award-winning restaurant at Rancho de San Juan as the most
creative restaurant in New Mexico. Exploring the bounty of
nature with creative sophistication and artistic
presentation, he has taken an innovative approach to gourmet
dining, offering an ala carte dinner menu (appetizer,
entree, and dessert) with options that are changed weekly.
Today?s visitors to Rancho de San Juan can enjoy numerous
recreational, historical and cultural activities all within
a short distance.
