The newly constructed two-story hotel opened on September 8, 2001. The hotel's Spanish-Colonial architecture of white adobe walls, red tile roofs, ornate ironwork, courtyard fountains, vaulted ceilings and arches conceals modern amenities. Barbara Chen Lowenthal Designs of Santa Barbara created the distinctive interiors.

All 23 guest rooms and suites offer a gas fireplace, high speed Internet access, cordless telephone with voicemail, color TV/VCR with cable, thermostatically controlled heat and air-conditioning, ceiling fans, deep water soaking tub, refrigerator (stocked with refreshments and regional specialties), French press coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, luxurious beds (king, queen or two queens) and 300-thread count Italian linens, towels and bathrobes. All rooms feature either a private balcony or garden patio.

An open-air fitness room overlooks the heated swimming pool and sundeck. In-room spa services including massages, facials and beauty treatments are readily available. The 24-hour staff will gladly arrange dining, shopping, concert and theatre tickets, wine tasting tours, whale-watching or sunset cruises and transportation. Luggage and bell-service as well as evening turn-down service are offered. Same-day laundry and dry-cleaning/valet is available. Complimentary underground parking is provided. Each evening, no-host wine bar is offered from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

The Boardroom (282 square feet) will accommodate meetings for up to 16 guests seated around the permanent mahogany table. The Marisol Room (1,080 square feet) with a gas fireplace is an intimate location for parties and wedding receptions accommodating 30 people seated at banquet rounds; 45 for a cocktail reception; 40 classroom-style meetings and 50 theater-styles. Kitchen facilities, catering, audio-visual and entertainment arrangements are available.
