Ideally located on the seam of Seattle?s trendy Belltown
neighborhood and the thriving retail district, the Hotel
Andra is at the epicenter of the city. Originally built in
1926, this classic brick and terra cotta building was
thoroughly recreated in 2004 to become the Hotel Andra.
Reflecting a progressive attitude, as inspired by the
surrounding neighborhood of Belltown, with its artist
studios, galleries, boutiques and restaurants, the hotel
offers travelers a unique and stylish hotel alternative in
downtown Seattle.
The Hotel Andra?s design celebrates the strong elements of
the Northwest ? water, woods and stone ? along with
Scandinavian design influences. Stepping into the hotel?s
living room, guests are surrounded by distressed plank
floors with inset custom wool hand-knotted rugs, warm walls,
and rich brown woods. Arne Jacobsen swan chairs in hot
orange, and minimalist accent lighting complete the relaxed,
yet progressive attitude. The dramatic lobby fireplace,
constructed of local split-grain granite, is surrounded by
floor to ceiling golden maple bookcases and topped with a
floating steel-wrapped plasma screen projecting an ever
changing collection of electronic fine art.
Floating above the hotel living room, the exposed Loft was
designed for casual meetings, quiet reading and socializing.
Featuring contemporary salon chairs in charcoal gray, cream
and deep blue woven fabric with light wood detail. Dark
walnut coffee tables filled with books and magazines and
brushed aluminum side tables give the space a warm,
residential feel. The sleek, minimalist glass and steel
railing was designed to allow guests an easy view of the
living room below. Representing design within reach, the
Hotel Andra is sophisticated, discreet and progressive.
