options are available at Blackberry Farm, including
exclusive use of the property which guarantees
availability of all of indoor and outdoor public areas.
With exclusive use, meetings can be arranged anywhere on
property to accommodate special needs and requirements.
Exclusive use is perfect for a group needing 32 or more
guest rooms.
For groups of all sizes,
meeting room use is complimentary with a block of ten or
more rooms at Blackberry Farm. Complimentary
audio/visual equipment available includes TV, VCR,
overhead projector, slide projector, screen, flip
charts, pads, and pens.
CHESTNUT COTTAGE
Two meeting rooms are available in Chestnut Cottage. The
Birch Boardroom can accommodate up to 14 guests and the
White Pine Room accommodates up to 50 guests. The
Hickory Club Room in Chestnut Cottage features
overstuffed sofas and chairs, billiards, game tables,
library books, two fireplaces, and an outdoor deck.
COVE COTTAGE
This three-bedroom, three-bath home includes a
meeting/dining room with seating for eight guests.
GUEST HOUSE
Offered as an exclusive arrangement for groups, this
home has 11 guest rooms and 2-fireplace living room that
can serve as an informal meeting room.
YALLARHAMMER PAVILION
Located by Singing Brook Trout Pond, Yallarhammer is
equipped with rockers, fireplace, picnic tables,
restroom, telephone, and cold beverages. This is an
ideal place to enjoy a group picnic lunch, barbeque or
outdoor meeting.
THEME PARTIES & MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT
Your Group Manager will be happy to arrange theme
productions including casino parties, magicians,
interactive games, and special musical entertainment.
Group Activities:
Wine Tastings - For a
truly special experience, your group if offered the
opportunity to enjoy a wine tasting in the personal wine
cellar of hotel proprietors Kreis and Sandy Beall.
Blackberry Farm?s Wine Sommelier will present your group
members with exceptional selections from its
award-winning wine list complemented by a variety of
local, hand-crafted artisanal cheeses. A wine tasting is
approximately one hour and can be scheduled between
12:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The charge for a group wine
tasting varies based on wine selections and number of
attendees.
Fly Fishing -
Blackberry Farm is an Orvis-endorsed lodge offering one
of the country?s finest fly fishing programs. On
property, learn the basics of equipment, casting and
technique with a two-hour instruction or try your skills
on two ponds and Hesse Creek, offering a mile of trophy
trout water. Off-property, test your stealth and finesse
against the wild trout of the Smoky Mountains or float
the broad Clinch River in a western-style drift boat for
hard-fighting, tailwater browns and rainbows.
Private Bonfires -
Enjoy a relaxing evening around your own roaring bonfire
with your colleagues and friends. Customize your
experience by adding an after-dinner cordials bar
featuring a selection of fine cordials and port wines.
The private bonfire includes self-service hot chocolate,
cider, and s?mores.
Smoky Mountain
Storytelling - A popular activity for many groups is
to be entertained by one of the regional storytellers
providing interesting, enlightening, and humorous tales
(factual and fictional) focusing on life in the Smoky
Mountains (one hour).
Horseback Riding -
Blackberry Farm offers guided two-hour rides on the
resort?s gentle and sure-footed Rocky Mountain horses.
This particular breed of horse, best known for its
gentle temperament, strong heart and astounding
endurance, is ideal for riding along the property?s
trails. Rides are available for up to eight riders daily
at 9 a.m. and at 2 p.m., and private rides are also
available upon request.
Hiking - Blackberry
encompasses 2,500 acres of forests and meadows with six
on-property hiking trails, including several that
connect to the trails of the Great Smoky Mountains
National Park. Blackberry?s trails offer a parade of
rare wildflowers, mountain streams, cascades, old
foundations, wildlife and spectacular views. Our guide,
Dwight McCarter, former National Park Ranger and author
of the book, Lost, offers special hikes and nature walks
for all skill levels.
Carriage & Wagon Rides -
Horse-drawn carriage rides and group hayrides offer
a wonderful way to relax and enjoy the property.
Cooking Demonstrations -
One of the Farm's chefs will demonstrate how he
turns the freshest ingredients into his seasonal and
regional specialties. The classes are small, limited to
24, and are held at the demonstration kitchen at Maple
Cottage, the private home of inn proprietors Sandy and
Kreis Beall.
Mountain Biking -
Mountain bikes are available for guests to enjoy for
excursions over the property?s paved and natural trails.
Helmets and bikes are complimentary. Customized
off-property trips are also available.
Spa Services -
Located in the original 1800s Farmhouse, its Aveda
concept spa was created as a haven within a haven. Your
group members will enjoy a variety of services including
massages, facials, body treatments, manicures and
pedicures. Services may be booked individually or as
exclusive group half-day and full-day use.

Team Building -
Working with a locally based company, your Group Manager
can develop corporate programs for your group?s needs.
Objectives are achieved through a customized program
that provides an environment which fosters planning,
teamwork, corporate values, innovation and creativity.
Special activities include rope courses, white water
rafting, canoeing, rock climbing and caving.
Golf - Several Golf
Digest four-star rated courses are available within a
twenty?forty-five minute drive. Transportation to the
courses is available for an additional charge.
Hot Air Ballooning -
Hot Air Ballooning offers the most spectacular way for
groups to enjoy stunning views of the Smoky Mountains
and surrounding countryside. Members are transported to
the off-property launch site for a one-hour flight.
White Water Rafting -
The Ocoee Whitewater Center, the site of the 1996
Olympic Slalom canoe/kayak events, is located within a
two-hour drive of Blackberry Farm.
Tours of Cades Cove -
Cades Cove is one of the most beautiful and interesting
historic sites in the Great Smoky Mountains National
Park. Arrangements can be made for transportation on an
hourly basis along with a private guide.
Area Information:
The Great Smoky Mountains
National Park and Cades Cove are within an easy drive
from Blackberry and offer some of the nation?s most
beautiful scenery. Cades Cove is one of the park?s
favorite spots; it is a 2,500-acre sheltered valley with
a mixture of forests, meadows, picnic areas, and an
outdoor museum of pioneer life of the 1800?s. |
