Amangani was sensitively designed, with a keen eye on
embracing the wonders of its surroundings, from both sides
of its Okalahoma sandstone columns and sweet smelling
Pacific redwood walls. Nature reveals her power, wildlife
and geology in dramatic style at Jackson Hole, and Amangani
reflects this by using native materials and natural textures
on a palette of ?butte and hide? tones.
Comfort is second nature at Amangani and the 21st century
has been comfortably and sympathetically incorporated while
allowing the feeling of a ?throw back? in time to play out
its rawness in full view from the resort's floor?to-ceiling
walls of windows. Amangani embraces the spirit of the West
without disturbing the beguiling ?calls? of Nature?s wild
and mystical rhythms.
Amangani?s elegant suites are an expression of the
surrounding countryside that inspired them: modern comforts,
woven cowhide chairs and faux wolf throws are eased into a
spacious environment using clean and simple lines creating
an atmosphere that reflects the wonders and majestically
aged-soul of its ?wild west? host. Amangani offers 29
Suites, five Deluxe Suites, two Amangani Suites, the Spring
Gulch Suite, the Sena Suite, the Shoshone Suite and the
Grand Teton Suite.
Amangani feature The Grill, a 65-seat dining room, is open
for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A wood-burning fireplace,
redwood-panelled walls and ceiling, specially commissioned
artwork and window views to the mountains lend a mood of
stylish comfort. Banquette seating mixes with chairs of
rawhide and rattan. Tables are of black terrazzo, and the
floor is a mix of carpet and slate. The Grill specialises in
creative American cuisine including steaks, chops, seafood
and regionally produced organic foods. Daily chef?s choices
are also featured. Private dinners and receptions are
arranged in the Takoda Room, adjacent to the library and
picnic lunches are available. The Bar is defined by rugged
sandstone columns, half-a-dozen wrought-iron bar stools and
an intimate, window-side setting of tables and chairs. In
the summer, drinks can be taken out onto the adjacent
terrace.
